Chris, I bow before your 3rd Bass knowledge. Pop goes the weasel, indeed.

You should never be ashamed that your first CD purchase contained such memorable tracks as "Brooklyn-Queens", "The Gasface", "Product of the Environment" and "Steppin' to the A.M.". Long live MC Serch and "Prime Minister" (Sinister) Pete Nice.

And yes, I did pay money for "The Cactus Album (Revisited)."

Hey Keith! Good to hear from you. Sorry to drive you close to madness with that link, though. If you want to go really nuts, go to Cowboy Troy's official website and see how seriously he takes himself. He also raps in Japanese and Mandarin. Good Lord.

What's crackin man. Keith Reams here. Derek Olson turned me on to your website. Nice work.

Anyhow, I had to comment on this Cowboy Troy guy. I'd seen him pop up in various places over the past month or so (CMAs, commercial w/ Wynonna Judd promoting Nashville Star, etc.) but had never heard his music until just now when I followed your link to his myspace page. Tears welled in my eyes when I listened to "My Last Yee Haw." I'm not trying to be funny. His music truly makes me sad. I got flashes in my head of everything I hate (15-minute parking, George Bush, cell phones in gyms and libraries, etc.), and experienced a dark spell of referential mania in which I was convinced that the entire world is against me. Cowboy Troy is so profoundly bad that he temporarily affected my psyche deep to the core. You hit the nail on the head with this one.
